Le Pape

In the Tarot de Marseilles’ deck, “The Pope,” is commonly known as “The Hierophant” in other Tarot decks. This card is linked to themes of spiritual guidance, tradition and authority. It embodies a religious figure, typically depicted holding a crozier or a “Férule” – a triple cross symbolizing the connection between the earthly and the divine. The Pope card prompts reflection on the ethics of our decisions and emphasizes the importance of spiritual introspection.
